Create Your Slides with Complementary Imagery
1. Choosing your presentation platform.
For example, you could use:
- UVic’s Slide Template for:
- Canva (No UVic template, you have to find your own)
- Any other presentation tool you are comfortable using
2. Label sections of your presentation:
Use template pages that you think are appropriate, and limit the number of elements on each slide to 6 or fewer (including title, images, and bullet points). Put more details in your speaker notes.
- Title Slide
- Story & Introduction
- What are Digital Badges?
- Why Use Badges?
- How Many Badges Requested?
- Are Badges Being Used?
- Are Badges Helpful in Job Searches?
- Conclusions & call back initial story
Find or Create Images
To help you convey the message you want to communicate for each key point or topic, you can use charts and images you’ve created, and/or use these tools to find license-free imagery:
- Pexels
- Unsplash
- CoPilot Image designer (which is based on ChatGPT) for an AI-generated image
- Google Gemini
- ChatGPT
- Icons sets from the Noun Project (primarily black and white)
Here is an example of the final presentation for the research paper for a 10-minute presentation (not the 5-minute Presentation you’re going to create)
