The BC Campus sponsored OpenEd.ca WordPress hosting platform is probably a
good choice for you for the following reasons:
- No fee for hosting
- Your websites won't get shut down 6-months after you leave UVic (like UVic's OAC websites do)
- Lots of templates
- Lots of useful plugins
- Easily migratable to other WordPress hosting provides

We advise you do this prior to the workshop as there can sometimes be a delay in the setup of this service in particular. <a href="https://wordpress.com">WordPress.com</a> has various tiers of websites available, including a free tier for both commericial and non-commercial personal sites. You can set up multiple Wordpress sites, so this can be place to set up a sandbox site to play with various Wordpress themes and features, and learn without feeling the pressure of making everything perfect. Note: The free version does include some Wordpress ads.
